The Dot and the Line: A Romance in Lower Mathematics

Norton Juster, who is most famous for writing The Phantom Tollbooth, wrote The Dot and the Line in 1963. It’s usually seen as a children’s book but it has terrific graphics, and it’s small size and proportions are a delight. Norton Juster is an architect as well as an author, and I think it shows in this book. The accompanying video is a narrated and animated version of the story – it won the 1965 Academy Award for Animated Short Film.
